Job Description

The Opportunity: Director in Cash & Securities Administration

We are seeking a Director in Cash & Securities Administration to join our team at MassMutual. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the asset lifecycle of our General Investment Account (GIA), which includes various investment managers and asset classes. You will also play a key role in implementing our Target Operating Model and leading important projects. As a Director, you will lead a team of associates and provide oversight for the current and future needs of MassMutual.

The Team:

You will report to the Head of Cash & Securities Administration and be part of our Investment Operations Team within the Investment Management Division. The Impact:

  • Manage and oversee various functions of Cash & Securities Administration, including different asset classes and their lifecycles.
  • Develop and implement business processes to improve efficiency.
  • Assist in managing complex projects across divisions.
  • Handle complex transactions and new mandates related to Investment Operations.
  • Resolve reconciliation issues through problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to adapt to new investment products.
  • Drive continuous improvement and efficiencies.
  • Lead employee development, training, and planning.
  • Anticipate and adapt to change.
  • Create and implement departmental policies and programs.
  • Represent the company on external teams, when appropriate.
  • Maintain internal control standards and address audit points.

The Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business.
  • 8+ years of middle/back-office operations experience in investment management, including treasury operations.

The Ideal Qualifications:

  • Understanding of the investment management process and data flows.
  • Ability to collaborate with investment data providers and consumers to solve issues.
  • Knowledge of various asset classes and their respective investment information.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Experience with Eagle STAR, PACE, and SAP.
  • Ability to problem solve and escalate when necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Awareness of risk and controls.
  • Ability to analyze data operations and identify opportunities for improvement.
