Principal Associate, Information Security Office (ISO) Consultant - Job Opportunity Location: McLean, Virginia, United States of America (Zip Code: 19075) Job Summary: At Capital One, we prioritize Information Security to protect our customers and associates. As a Principal Associate in the Information Security Office (ISO), you will play a vital role in consulting on initiatives, programs, and projects to enhance our Information Security practices. You will collaborate with various teams to innovate and implement effective security measures. We are looking for someone with a practical understanding of risk and security, who can also seek expert advice when needed. This role requires familiarity with Cloud Service technologies, such as Storage Services, Security & Access Control Management, Container Services, and API Implementation and Management. Our ideal candidate is knowledgeable about different Cloud computing models (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS) and their architectural differences. Responsibilities: - Act as a central point of contact for Information Security for the Retail Bank line of business - Provide proactive Information Security consulting to business and technology teams, covering Infrastructure Security, Resiliency, Data Security, Network Architecture and Design, and User Access Management - Serve as an expert in Capital One's Information Security capabilities, solutions, policies, procedures, and standards - Encourage customers to leverage security capabilities and solutions to integrate security into development processes - Escalate and manage cyber security risks - Offer ad hoc support on special Information Security topics for the business - Provide regular updates to executive leadership on the overall Information Security health and risk environment within your line of business - Anticipate the objectives and needs of the line of business leadership to better serve their interests About You: - You thrive in a fast-paced, modern computing environment - Securing modern computing platforms is your passion - You are eager to learn about new technologies - You possess strong conceptual thinking and communication skills - You can work well with minimal supervision - You are a demonstrated leader with team-oriented interpersonal skills - You remain calm and think clearly under pressure, while maintaining confidentiality - You have a deep understanding of strategic business objectives and can drive results Basic Qualifications: - High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification - At least 4 years of experience working in cybersecurity or information technology - At least 1 year of experience providing guidance and oversight of security concepts Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree - 2+ years of experience in securing a public cloud environment - 2+ years of experience in Application Security - Professional certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) - Experience in Offensive or Defensive Security techniques Salary: Please note that salaries vary by location.
