Position: Threat Model Assessor - Manager Location: McLean, Virginia, United States About the Role: As a Manager, Threat Model Assessor at Capital One, you will play a crucial role in raising the level of Information Security across our initiatives, programs, and projects. You will have a practical understanding of risk and security, and know when to seek expert advice. Collaboration and innovation are key as you work with other teams to push boundaries. Your expertise in threat modeling will be essential in ensuring the security of our customers and associates. Responsibilities: - Understand and assess potential security threats for critical initiatives - Design and develop solutions to mitigate threats - Develop threat models to identify and analyze security risks - Collaborate with other teams to communicate threats and recommendations - Provide expert advice and guidance on security matters to other teams - Possess deep understanding of security concepts and systems to make informed recommendations About You: - You thrive in a fast-paced and modern computing environment - You have a passion for securing modern computing platforms - You are eager to continuously learn new technologies - You have strong conceptual thinking and communication skills - You can work well with minimal supervision - You are a natural leader with excellent interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively with diverse individuals and roles, including upper management, IT leaders, and technology vendors - You can maintain a calm and clear mindset under pressure while respecting confidentiality - You have a deep understanding of strategic business objectives and can drive results Basic Qualifications: - High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification - At least 6 years of experience in cybersecurity or information technology - At least 2 years of experience in threat modeling, security design, or risk assessments - At least 2 years of experience in security architecture reviews Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree - Professional certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) - Experience in Offensive or Defensive Security techniques - Experience in a regulated environment Salary Information: - New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $197,400 - $225,300 for Manager, Cyber Technical - San Francisco, California (Hybrid On-Site): $209,200 - $238,700 for Manager, Cyber Technical - Salary range for other locations will be provided in the offer letter Capital One offers comprehensive benefits that support your well-being.
