Team Description: The AI Foundations team is responsible for bringing our vision for AI at Capital One to life. We work with Academia, product, technology, and business leaders to apply cutting-edge AI research to our business. Job Responsibilities: - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products that improve how customers interact with their money. - Utilize a range of technologies (Pytorch, AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, Lightning, VectorDBs, etc.) to uncover insights from large volumes of data. - Develop AI foundation models from design through implementation. - Engage in high-impact applied research to enhance customer experiences. - Communicate complex concepts in a way that aligns with business goals. Preferred Qualifications: - Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields. - Focus on NLP or significant industrial NLP research experience. - Experience with large language models (10B+ parameters, 500B+ tokens), including training and optimization. - Experience in developing libraries or platform-level code. - Strong background in geometric deep learning or behavioral models. - Expertise in optimization (training and inference), or finetuning. - Knowledge of data preparation techniques and contributions to open source datasets.
