Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Lead Engineer to help build and maintain APIs and SDKs for training, fine-tuning, and accessing AI models at scale. As part of our Enterprise AI team, you will collaborate with world-class AI engineers and researchers to design and implement key API products and services that power real-time customer-facing applications. Your projects may include architecting and deploying core APIs and SDKs, designing high-performance APIs for real-time applications, developing application-specific interfaces using AI models, enabling users to build new AI capabilities, and implementing AI safety measures in the API layer.
Responsibilities:
- Architect, build, and deploy well-managed core APIs and SDKs for accessing AI models
- Design APIs for performance, scalability, ease of use, and governance automation
- Develop application-specific interfaces using AI models to enhance customer experiences
- Enable users to build new AI capabilities
- Design and implement AI safety measures in the API layer
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
- At least 8 years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing and cache optimization techniques
- At least 4 years of programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, or Java
- At least 3 years of experience building, scaling, and optimizing training and inferencing APIs for deep neural networks
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with building large-scale AI products or platforms for NLP, speech, computer vision, or recommendation systems serving millions of users
- Ability to work in ambiguous environments with competing priorities and deadlines
- Experience iterating rapidly with researchers and engineers to improve product experiences while building foundational capabilities
- Familiarity with deploying large neural network models in demanding production environments
- Experience with API security, observability, cloud access control, and privacy best practices
Salary Information:
- New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $230,100 - $262,700 annually
- San Francisco, California (Hybrid On-Site): $243,800 - $278,200 annually
- Remote (Regardless of Location): $195,000 - $222,600 annually
