As a Facility & Natural Hazards Consultant Engineer at FM Global, you can make a difference in the future. With your engineering background, you will help clients protect their properties and businesses from potential disasters. You'll work with influential organizations and contribute to their understanding of risk.

We are looking for a candidate with a Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering degree, along with 5 or more years of experience in ethanol production facilities or oil extraction plants. Experience in these industries is highly desired. Applicants living in Nebraska and Iowa will be considered.

Responsibilities:

As a Facility & Natural Hazards Consultant Engineer, you will interact with clients from various manufacturing industries, offering expertise to help protect their facilities against fire, explosion, natural hazards, and other risks. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating equipment and fire protection systems to identify hazards and provide risk improvement solutions
  • Using FM Global operating standards to offer risk guidance and implement best practices
  • Preparing engineering reports and loss expectancies to support risk improvement
  • Collaborating with different teams on fire and natural hazard recommendations
  • Working independently from a home office and managing time effectively
  • Traveling to client sites for evaluations and risk assessments
  • Working towards specialization in high hazard industries
Qualifications:
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written), proficiency in MS Office products required
  • Analytical, organized, and good problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • A valid driver's license is required (company car provided)

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds or 11.34 kilograms
  • Able to climb ladders

The hiring range for this position is $90,000 to $129,400. The final salary offer will vary based on individual education, skills, and experience.
