Job Description

Job Title: Business Services Special Projects Accountant

Job Description: We are looking for a dedicated individual who can provide extensive accounting support and direction to our Business Services Department. As a Business Services Special Projects Accountant, your role will be to inspire and prepare our scholars to achieve their dreams, contribute to the community, and engage in a lifetime of learning. You will research and analyze financial data, prepare reports, and perform key technical accounting tasks. Additionally, you will provide oversight to building bond and LTFM projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Align the function with the mission and core values of the organization
  • Develop and communicate a shared vision for your area of responsibility
  • Plan and execute continuous improvement processes
  • Ensure compliance with financial legal requirements
  • Develop staff capacity and provide necessary support
  • Coordinate hiring and provide supervision to direct reports
  • Oversee and monitor building bond and LTFM projects
  • Provide support and assistance with budgets and financial processes
  • Manage department resources effectively
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
  • Assist in the preparation for annual audits
  • Apply effective decision-making processes
  • Communicate clearly in writing and speaking
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent relevant degree
  • Three years of proven success in accounting with an emphasis in budgeting and financial analysis

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a public school district
  • Resourceful, self-directed, responsible, problem solver, and skilled communicator
  • Ability to lead and manage projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Salary: View salary grids on Pages 3-4, Section 1 of the Management Personnel I-M agreement. [Link to the agreement is provided]
Work Schedule: Full-time, 225 days annually
