In our Preoperative (PreOp) and Post Anesthesia care units (PACU) at Cedars-Sinai, we have over 100 bays dedicated to caring for patients before and after anesthesia. Our highly skilled perianesthesia nurses provide critical care, continuously monitoring patients' vital signs, managing side effects, and being prepared for emergencies to ensure patient safety.

As a Registered Nurse in PreOp PACU, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to patients in this special population. Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing direct and indirect patient care services that prioritize safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection
• Offering patient education on disease prevention and restorative measures
• Administering medications and therapeutic agents as part of treatment plans
• Performing tests, immunizations, phlebotomy, and initiating peripheral venous access
• Observing and assessing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to medications/treatments, and determining appropriate actions
• Developing individualized patient care plans based on observations and implementing them effectively
• Ensuring patient safety, considering diverse backgrounds, age, cultural, spiritual, psychosocial, and other needs

Education Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN or higher preferred

License/Certification/Registration Requirements:

• Current California State RN License
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association ACLS and PALS certifications
• Specialty Certification (i.e. CPAN) for RN III (external applicants may obtain within one year of hire)

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years recent acute RN experience in specialty - PACU or ICU
• Working knowledge of applicable Standards of Practice
• Demonstrated dedication to customer service and meeting the needs of patients and colleagues

This is a full-time position under a 12-hour shift schedule, with flexible start times between 6am, 8am, and 9am. We are currently offering a $10,000 hiring incentive!
