Requirements- Minimum 3+ years of paid professional tax preparation experience, using professional tax preparation software
- Completed at least 125 tax returns per tax season for the past 3 years
- Experience in preparing various federal and provincial tax returns for individuals, including students, pensioners, self-employed individuals, rental property owners, investors, and those with foreign income
- Proficient in preparing and filing personal tax returns, including employment, self-employment, rental, investments, T1135, foreign income, and all eligible credits and deductions
- Strong knowledge of tax laws and concepts, excellent critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable with Windows and mobile platforms and proficient in G-suite applications (Docs, Sheets, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible availability/schedule
- Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in both English and French (bilingual proficiency is an asset)
- Experience in preparing Quebec tax (TP1) returns (considered an asset)
- Experience in providing support in a contact center environment (considered an asset)
- Guide customers in preparing their personal tax returns remotely and provide excellent customer service
- Collaborate with customers to review their tax returns and ensure compliance and accuracy, offering tax guidance and preparation services
- Research and address customers' tax questions through written and oral communication
- Provide a Full Service experience by preparing, reviewing, and filing customers' returns with the CRA (Canada Revenue Agency), or assisting customers in preparing their own returns with tax advice, preparation, and guidance on required documents for the CRA
- Stay updated on tax regulations and provide accurate advice on maximizing customers' tax returns
- Create positive customer interactions by demonstrating empathy, deep tax knowledge, and expertise
- Proactively find solutions for customers by utilizing government websites, professional resources, and team expertise, and explaining complex information in simple terms
- Follow established practices, procedures, and company policies to resolve customer inquiries
We offer a competitive compensation package with a strong pay-for-performance rewards approach. The expected base pay for this position ranges from PEI $25.50 – 34.50, BC $25.50 – 34.50, to Nova Scotia $25.50 – 34.50.
