Job Title: Registered Nurse II, Oncology - Compassionate Care for All We are looking for a kind and skilled Registered Nurse to join our team and provide direct care to Oncology patients in an ambulatory setting. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: - Assess the needs of our Oncology patients, considering their specific health conditions and learning needs. - Review lab diagnostic data to inform patient assessment and care. - Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives to enhance the care of our Oncology patients. - Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop a personalized plan of care and education for each patient, taking into account their disease process, anticipated outcomes, treatment complications, and psycho-social needs. - Facilitate appropriate referrals to other interdisciplinary healthcare team members. - Demonstrate proficiency in technical skills required for safe patient care, such as IV therapy equipment utilization, universal precautions, and proper body mechanics. - Establish IV access using peripheral or central catheters per protocol, ensuring labs are verified before preparing medication. - Administer IV therapy as ordered by the medical doctor. Education: - Minimum requirement: Associate degree/college diploma in Nursing. - Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. License & Certifications: - Valid CA RN license. - Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. - ONS Chemo/Immunotherapy certification.
