We encourage you to explore our nursing opportunities at the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute. We currently have an immediate opening for a Research Nurse Coordinator II. In this role, you will provide educational services to research participants and their family members regarding study participation, their current clinical condition, and/or disease process. You will also assess and document any adverse events reported by research participants.

As a Research Nurse Coordinator II, you will work closely with the Principal Investigators (PI) to document reports and progress. You will also record research data reported by patients, such as their treatment symptoms. Additionally, you will participate in the query and analysis of research data as a key member of our research team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate clinical study activities, ensuring adherence to protocols and serving as a liaison between study participants, Principal Investigator (PI), and other research staff
• Oversee and coordinate the clinical coordination of the research portfolio
• Collaborate with the team to create and communicate a plan of care to safely and effectively collect clinical research data
• Facilitate and deliver education to the interdisciplinary team on study requirements
• Coordinate research participant study visits and provide clinical information over the phone
• Recruit study participants and lead recruitment activities
• Complete documentation of study participant enrollment, assessment, education, and follow-up activities
• Prepare data spreadsheets, update investigation binders, and complete Case Report Forms
• Assist with IRB submissions, data compilation, grant proposals, and publication preparation
• Oversee grant activities post-award, including monitoring budgets, compliance, and progress reports

 

Requirements:

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or College Diploma in Nursing
• Valid and current California RN license
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
• 3 years of clinical nursing experience
• 2 years of clinical research experience
