Job Description
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California is looking for full-time Pharmacy Technicians to join our team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist and perform various tasks to support medication management. Whether you're working in inpatient or outpatient settings, sterile compounding, or transitions of care, we have opportunities for you to start or grow your Pharmacy career at Cedars-Sinai.
Here's what this role entails:
- Prepare, deliver, and distribute medications accurately and efficiently to the appropriate care areas, following our policies and procedures, while also maintaining necessary documentation. Your workflow will be prioritized to ensure timely medication delivery.
- Utilize technology effectively and safely to prepare, distribute, deliver, and refill medications and services for our patients.
- Use the electronic medical record system to support patient care and ensure accurate medication management.
- Prepare sterile compounded products accurately and in a timely manner, following our policies, best practices, and industry standards.
- Assist pharmacists with medication reconciliation functions, which may include screening patients, obtaining medication lists, and documenting reconciliation activities.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members and patients. You will also be willing to participate in new initiatives and tasks as needed to support patient care.
- Perform inventory control functions to ensure proper medication supply.
To qualify for this position, you should meet the following requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED is required.
- Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the California State Board of Pharmacy.
- Ability to perform pharmacy calculations involving ratios, proportions, and percentages.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to use software applications and operate technological devices.
- Knowledge and understanding of State, Federal, and Agency standards and regulations.
- Previous hospital experience is preferred.
