Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance services on motor truck and trailer equipment
- Identify and document warrantable repairs
- Maintain a safe and organized work area
- Conduct road tests for diagnosis and verification
- Perform duties independently and efficiently
- Use hand and power tools to carry out repairs and maintenance
- Inspect and adjust important parts for proper operation
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes and battery checks
- Adjust and replace brakes, tighten bolts, and reassemble equipment
- Lift heavy parts using hydraulic jacks or hoists
- Diagnose malfunctions using specialized test instruments
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and equipment specifications
- Specialize in repairing and troubleshooting major components
- Handle other projects and tasks assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of practical experience in tractor trailer maintenance
- Respective Provincial License such as Red Seal/310T
- Maintain membership/registration with respective Government Agencies
- Valid driver's license (Class D or Class 3) with air brake certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Proficiency in using all tools of the trade
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions
- Specialized training in diagnosing major components preferred
- Regular, predictable, and full attendance is essential
- Willingness to travel within the district and work required schedule
