Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance services on motor truck and trailer equipment
• Identify and document warrantable repairs
• Maintain a safe and organized work area
• Conduct road tests for diagnosis and verification
• Perform duties independently and efficiently
• Use hand and power tools to carry out repairs and maintenance
• Inspect and adjust important parts for proper operation
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes and battery checks
• Adjust and replace brakes, tighten bolts, and reassemble equipment
• Lift heavy parts using hydraulic jacks or hoists
• Diagnose malfunctions using specialized test instruments
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and equipment specifications
• Specialize in repairing and troubleshooting major components
• Handle other projects and tasks assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of practical experience in tractor trailer maintenance
• Respective Provincial License such as Red Seal/310T
• Maintain membership/registration with respective Government Agencies
• Valid driver's license (Class D or Class 3) with air brake certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
• Proficiency in using all tools of the trade
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions
• Specialized training in diagnosing major components preferred
• Regular, predictable, and full attendance is essential
• Willingness to travel within the district and work required schedule
• Complete Penske employment application and pass employment reference checks
