We are currently hiring Full Stack Software Engineers who are passionate about combining data with emerging technologies. As a Lead Software Engineer at Capital One, you will play a key role in driving a major transformation within our company. Enterprise Data is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to provide technical leadership for data management applications that support sensitive and crucial regulatory processes. What You'll Do: - Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers experienced in distributed microservices and full stack systems to create solutions that meet regulatory needs. - Stay updated on technology trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community. - Collaborate with digital product managers and deliver cloud-based solutions that empower millions of Americans to achieve their financial goals. - Utilize programming languages like Python and Go, open source databases, container orchestration services, and various AWS tools and services. - Lead the technical design and implementation of the team, using technologies such as Python, Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, PostgreSQL, Presto SQL, Snowflake SQL, and Amazon Web Services. Additional Responsibilities: - Administer multiple datasets, control access and change approvals, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and policies. - Maintain documentation and mentor team members on technical decisions and issue resolution. - Evaluate and onboard new data sources and remove outdated data. - Monitor day-to-day operations to ensure smooth functioning of tasks. - Ensure compliance and vulnerability remediation for packages and components. - Develop and review high-level designs that improve existing functionality and performance without compromising compliance. - Collaborate with various stakeholders to complete, test, and deploy work in a timely manner. - Communicate progress, challenges, and potential issues to maintain stakeholder expectations. Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree - At least 6 years of experience in software engineering - At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) Preferred Qualifications: - Master's Degree - 6+ years of experience with Python - 3+ years of experience with AWS - 2+ years of experience with Apache Airflow - 2+ years of experience with Apache Spark - 2+ years of experience with Presto or Snowflake - 4+ years of experience with open source frameworks - 1+ years of people management experience - 2+ years of experience with Agile practices Please note that Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position. Salary Information: The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, depending on the location: - New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $197,400 - $225,300 for Lead Software Engineer. Candidates hired for other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
