Position Title: Director, Fraud Strategy and Advisory Location: Richmond, Virginia, United States Company: Capital One Job Description: We are looking for a Director of Fraud Strategy and Advisory to join our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Group at Capital One. The AML Group is an important part of our Corporate Compliance Department and serves as the second line of defense against financial crimes. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing compliance issues related to fraud across our organization. You will work closely with our Enterprise Fraud Compliance leaders and the 1st Line Fraud Business Areas to develop strategies, tools, and methodologies to combat fraud and ensure compliance with regulations. Responsibilities: - Provide guidance and oversight on fraud-related risks and controls, including the design and documentation of controls. - Conduct analysis of fraud trends and incidents to identify areas of improvement. - Evaluate and provide compliance perspective on new products, operating systems, and decisions related to fraud. - Influence and guide business leaders in making decisions that mitigate fraud-related risks. - Develop strategic plans and policies related to fraud that exceed regulatory expectations. - Lead a team of Fraud Compliance Advisors. Qualifications: - Previous experience in financial crime compliance or fraud-related roles, preferably in the financial services industry. - Strong knowledge of fraud and scam typologies. - Experience in leading enterprise fraud risk or strategy, including risk assessments and problem-solving. - Ability to lead and motivate a team. - Excellent project management skills and ability to meet deadlines. - Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer focus. Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree or military experience. - At least 5 years of experience in compliance management. - At least 10 years of experience in banking or financial services. Preferred Qualifications: - Juris Doctorate or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. - Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) Certified Risk Professional, or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager certification. - 10+ years of experience in compliance management. - 15+ years of experience in banking or financial services. - 5+ years of people management experience. - 2+ years of experience in project or process management. Salary and Benefits: - Salary ranges between $202,400 - $231,000 per year for the role of Director, AML Investigations in New York City (Hybrid On-Site). - Full-time employees receive a comprehensive set of health, financial, and other benefits to support their well-being. - Part-time roles will have salaries prorated based on the agreed-upon number of hours.
