As a Registered Nurse (RN) in our Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU), you will play a vital role in caring for acutely ill patients with heart-related conditions. In the CICU, you will be responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care, ensuring their safety, comfort, and personal hygiene. You will educate patients on disease prevention and necessary measures for their recovery. Your duties will also include administering medications and therapeutic treatments, performing tests and procedures, and monitoring patients for any signs of illness or adverse reactions. You will create individualized care plans based on patient observations and provide culturally sensitive care to patients from diverse backgrounds.

Educational Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher degree is preferred.

License/Certification/Registration Requirements:

• Current California State Registered Nurse (RN) License is required.
• Valid American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support certification is required.
• For RN III: Specialty Certification (external applicants may obtain within one year of hire).

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years recent acute RN experience in the specialty. (Note: Minimum of 1 year recent acute RN experience will be considered for Registered Nurse II).
• Working knowledge of applicable Standards of Practice.
• Demonstrated dedication to customer service and ability to meet the needs and expectations of patients and healthcare colleagues.
