8South comprises of two specialized surgical units with 24 beds each. We provide care to adult patients who require hospitalization for various surgical procedures and after trauma injuries. Our cases include colo-rectal, bariatric, urology, plastics, GYN, gender affirming, ENT, oncology, and general surgeries.

As a Registered Nurse IV on 8South, you will be responsible for supervising and implementing the nursing process to deliver exceptional patient care.

As a Registered Nurse IV on 8South, you will:

• Be an expert clinician with advanced knowledge and proficiency in both specialty and general nursing.
• Demonstrate excellence in all aspects of nursing practice, including care delivery, staff education, research, and collaboration.
• Handle complex and unpredictable patient care situations, displaying outstanding leadership in nursing.
• Serve as a valuable resource to nursing staff, the unit, the organization, and the community, promoting the advancement of nursing.
• Apply clinical expertise and knowledge of standard care to streamline interventions for efficiency and cost-saving.
• Demonstrate understanding of regulatory requirements for patient assignment, delegation of tasks, documentation, and oversight of the care delivered by the team.
• Exhibit dedication to customer service and meet the needs and expectations of patients and healthcare colleagues.
• Show leadership through taking initiative, being creative, critical thinking, and cooperation.

Educational Requirements:

• BSN or higher degree is mandatory.

Licenses/Certifications:

• Valid California State RN License
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• National Specialty Certification (such as CMSRN)

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of acute RN experience, including at least 3 years in a specialty area.
• Complies with specialty-specific clinical competencies for the assigned area.
• Maintained satisfactory Clinical Nurse III status for at least one (1) year.
• Received a performance evaluation rating of "Strongly Meets" or higher.
• Meets the clinical criteria and protocol of Clinical Nurse IV.
