We are currently seeking Registered Nurses for our 7South unit, a specialized 61-bed General Medical unit. This unit is unique because it can handle insulin drips, telemetry capacity, and has two airborne precaution rooms. What you'll be doing as a Registered Nurse on our 7South unit:

• Providing direct and indirect patient care services with a focus on safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection in a timely manner.
• Educating patients on disease prevention and restorative measures.
• Administering medications and therapeutic agents according to treatment plans.
• Performing skin tests, immunizations, phlebotomy, and initiating peripheral venous access.
• Observing and assessing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to medications/treatments, and general behavior to determine normal versus abnormal characteristics.
• Planning and implementing individualized patient care based on observations, and providing specialized care to diverse patient populations, including those with cultural, spiritual, and developmental considerations.
• Identifying patient readiness for learning and ability to follow instructions, while ensuring patient safety.

Required Education:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher preferred.

License/Certification/Registration Requirements:

• Current California State RN License required
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
• Specialty Certification preferred for Registered Nurse III (external applicants may obtain within one year of hire)

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of recent acute RN experience in a specialty. Note: Registered Nurse II position may consider candidates with a minimum of 1 year of recent acute RN experience.
• Working knowledge of applicable Standards of Practice.
• Dedication to customer service and ability to meet the needs and expectations of patients and healthcare colleagues.
