Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care services in a timely manner, ensuring safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection.
• Offer patient education on disease prevention and restorative measures.
• Administer medications, perform skin tests, immunizations, phlebotomy, and initiate peripheral venous access.
• Observe and assess signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to medications/treatments, and overall patient condition.
• Demonstrate refined assessment skills and implement appropriate reporting, referrals, and emergency procedures as needed.
• Care for patients with diverse cultural backgrounds, considering their individual needs and making necessary adjustments.
• Ensure patient safety and create a safe environment, particularly for different age groups and developmental stages.
• Provide assistance and support to colleagues, new staff, temporary staff, and students.
• Delegate and assign tasks to licensed and unlicensed healthcare workers within their scope of responsibilities.

Educational Requirements

• Associate Degree required
• Bachelor's degree in nursing (preferably from a state-accredited program)

Licenses

• RN State license required
• BLS certification required

Experience

• At least 1 year of acute care experience in a specialty area
• Knowledge of State, Federal, and Agency standards and regulations
• Familiarity with Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and other regulatory requirements
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency in healthcare technology within the specialty area
• Commitment to customer service
• Analytical skills for decision support
• Ability to manage priorities and adapt to changing situations
• Previous experience in Adult Fitness programs and designing exercise prescriptions (preferred)
