About the Team

This position is for a senior Oracle, MySQL, and Oracle Exadata Database Administrator (DBA) in a centralized database administration team that provides 24/7 support in test and production environments. The DBA is primarily responsible for maintaining highly visible production databases.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Actively manages backups along with other database administrators to ensure successful processes and recoverability.
  • Provides on-call support for database issues and resolves recurring issues.
  • Assists application groups with design development that meets current and future business requirements.
  • Ensures timely escalation of issues resulting in customer outage to management.
  • Participates in recovery of databases and assists with disaster recovery testing.
  • Implements backup/recovery procedures to protect data integrity.
  • Provides excellent customer service to internal and external clients.
  • Supports development projects and participates in the design process.
  • Reviews databases and systems to ensure acceptable performance levels.
  • Maintains physical database infrastructure.
  • Provides status reports and recommendations for improvement.
  • Has knowledge of MySQL and Exadata databases.
  • Applies database concepts and works with other teams on performance and access issues.
  • Follows up on recommendations and actively supports implementation.

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Information Management or Computer Science.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
  • Experience with Oracle Database Architecture, Upgrade, and Exadata Database Machine.
  • Proficiency in Oracle Core DBA, MYSQL DBA, Oracle Database.
  • Optional skills include IBM AIX, Linux Environments, and Oracle Linux.
  • Strong capacity planning, SQL analysis, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to provide off-hours support and participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Good to have OCP – Oracle Certification.
