About the Team

This position is for a senior Oracle, MySQL, and Oracle Exadata Database Administrator (DBA) in a centralized team that provides 24/7 support in test and production environments. The DBA is responsible for maintaining highly visible production databases.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Actively managing backups along with other database administrators to ensure successful processes and data recovery.
  • Providing on-call support as needed for database issues and resolving recurring problems.
  • Assisting application groups with the design and development of databases that meet business requirements (creating physical database objectives, enforcing standards, etc.).
  • Escalating and resolving customer outage issues through appropriate channels.
  • Participating in database recovery and disaster recovery testing if necessary.
  • Implementing backup and recovery procedures to protect data integrity.
  • Performing routine reviews of databases and systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Providing support for production database environments 24/7.
  • Maintaining physical databases and providing direction on infrastructure design.
  • Reporting detailed status updates to managers and recommending improvements when necessary.
  • Having knowledge of MySQL and preferably Exadata database and Exadata storage.

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Information Management or Computer Science
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator
  • Expertise in Oracle Core DBA, MYSQL DBA, and Oracle Database
  • Experience with Oracle Database Architecture, Upgrade, and Exadata Database Machine
  • Knowledge of Oracle RAC DBA and Oracle Tuning
  • Optional skills: IBM AIX, Linux Environments, Oracle Linux
  • Experience with large databases (Terabytes), including capacity planning, SQL analysis, schema revisions, security administration, and user account maintenance
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and provide off-hours support
  • Optional certification: OCP - Oracle Certification
