Senior Java Unix Application Support - SRE – Rotational Shifts

About the team

This team is involved in designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting software applications that are delivered on time and within budget. We work closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements, analyze and design technical solutions, and ensure alignment with business and IT strategies while complying with FIS architectural standards.

What you will be doing

• Provide application software development services, typically in a defined project.
• Develop program logic for new applications or analyze and modify logic in existing applications.
• Code, test, debug, document, implement, and maintain software applications.
• Make recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code.
• Ensure successful implementation of system improvements.

What you bring

• Must have 7+ years of experience in production support in JAVA and LINUX based applications.
• A passion for problem solving with strong analytical capabilities.
• Must have experience with Unix/Linux based applications, including a very good knowledge of Unix/Linux commands.
• Experience in Oracle & SQL Server Database.
• Experience within a structured Ticketing Management environment (Incident Ticket, Problem ticket, Change ticket, and Service Request).
• Analyze Application logs, troubleshoot issues, determine action, and ensure Application Environments work smoothly.

Added bonus if you have

• Knowledge of FIS' products and services.
• Knowledge of the financial services industry.
• Knowledge and experience in WebSphere 9, JBOSS, OpenShift Container management is preferred.
• Knowledge in ServiceNow (SNOW), Dynatrace, Splunk required.
• Knowledge of Bit Bucket, JENKINS, REST Webservices is preferred.
• Knowledge of networking/load balancer concepts.
• Knowledge of basic financial analysis principles and ratios.
