Full-time Senior Java Unix Application Support - SRE (Rotational Shifts)

About the Role:

This position involves designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting application software. You will work closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements and develop quality technical solutions that align with business and IT strategies, following FIS architectural standards.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Provide application software development services, typically as part of a defined project.
  • Develop program logic for new applications or modify existing application logic.
  • Code, test, debug, document, implement, and maintain software applications.
  • Make recommendations for new code development or reuse of existing code.
  • Ensure successful implementation of system improvements.

What You Bring:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in production support of Java and Linux-based applications.
  • A passion for problem-solving with strong analytical capabilities.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux-based applications, including a good knowledge of Unix/Linux commands.
  • Experience in Oracle and SQL Server Databases.
  • Experience in structured Ticketing Management, including incident tickets, problem tickets, change tickets, and service requests.
  • Analyze application logs, troubleshoot issues, determine action, and ensure that application environments work smoothly.

Added Bonus Skills:

  • Knowledge of FIS products and services.
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge and experience in WebSphere 9, JBOSS, and OpenShift Container management preferred.
  • Knowledge in ServiceNow (SNOW), Dynatrace, and Splunk required.
  • Knowledge of Bit Bucket, JENKINS, and REST Web services preferred.
  • Knowledge of networking and load balancer concepts.
  • Knowledge of basic financial analysis principles and ratios.
