Java Unix Application Support - SRE – Rotational Shifts

About the Team

This team is involved in designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting applications software. We work closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements and develop quality technical solutions that align with business and IT strategies while complying with FIS architectural standards.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Provide application software development services, typically in a defined project.
  • Develop program logic for new applications or analyze and modify logic in existing applications.
  • Code, test, debug, document, implement, and maintain software applications.
  • Make recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code.
  • Ensure successful implementation of system improvements.

What You Bring

  • Must have 3-7 years of experience in production support for JAVA and LINUX based applications.
  • A passion for problem-solving with strong analytical capabilities.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux-based applications, including a good knowledge of Unix/Linux commands.
  • Experience in Oracle and SQL Server Database.
  • Experience in a structured Ticketing Management environment (Incident Ticket, Problem ticket, Change ticket, and Service Request).
  • Analyze application logs, troubleshoot issues, determine action, and ensure smooth application environments.

Added Bonus if You Have

  • Knowledge of FIS' products and services.
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge and experience in WebSphere 9, JBOSS, OpenShift Container management is preferred.
  • Knowledge in ServiceNow (SNOW), Dynatrace, Splunk is required.
  • Knowledge in Bit Bucket, JENKINS, REST Webservices is preferred.
  • Knowledge of networking/load balancer concepts.
  • Knowledge of basic financial analysis principles and ratios.
