Java Unix Application Support - SRE – Rotational Shifts

About the Team

This team focuses on designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining, and providing support for applications software. They work closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements and develop technical solutions that align with business and IT strategies while complying with FIS architectural standards.

What You Will Be Doing

• Provide application software development services, typically within a defined project.
• Develop program logic for new applications or modify logic in existing applications.
• Code, test, debug, document, implement, and maintain software applications.
• Make recommendations for the development of new code or reuse of existing code.
• Ensure successful implementation of system improvements.

What You Bring

• 3-7 years of experience in production support for JAVA and LINUX based applications.
• A passion for problem solving with strong analytical abilities.
• Experience with Unix/Linux based applications, including a good knowledge of Unix/Linux commands.
• Experience in Oracle & SQL Server Database.
• Experience within a structured ticketing management environment (Incident Ticket, Problem Ticket, Change Ticket, and Service Request).
• Analyze application logs, troubleshoot issues, determine action, and ensure smooth operation of application environments.

Added Bonus If You Have

• Knowledge of FIS' products and services.
• Knowledge of the financial services industry.
• Knowledge and experience in WebSphere 9, JBOSS, OpenShift Container management is preferred.
• Knowledge in ServiceNow (SNOW), Dynatrace, Splunk required.
• Knowledge of Bit Bucket, JENKINS, REST Web services is preferred.
• Knowledge in networking/load balancer concepts.
• Knowledge of basic financial analysis principles and ratios.
