**Language Access Operations Coordinator (Spanish)** Hiawatha Academies is looking for a Language Access Operations Coordinator who speaks Spanish to join our team. We serve a diverse community of students and families, and our Language Access and Support Team provides translation and interpretation services. **Role Summary** The Language Access Operations Coordinator (LAOC) plays a crucial role in our team. They handle the day-to-day operations by coordinating language needs, answering staff questions about language access, and providing Spanish translations and interpretation both virtually and in person. The LAOC works under the guidance of the Language Access and Support Director. **Responsibilities** - Help develop, implement, and manage language request structures and systems. - Support the creation and distribution of staff and external communications for the Language Access and Support Team. - Provide Spanish/English language support for meetings, phone calls, and other interactions. - Serve as a Language Site Coordinator for one campus. - Assist with Spanish/English translations for various documents. - Collaborate with other teams to develop staff training and resources for working with interpreters. - Support social workers in communicating with families in urgent situations. - Help with general operations support for the Language Access and Support Team. **Skills & Qualifications** **Required:** - High School Diploma or GED. - Native fluency in English and Spanish. - 40-hour training certificate in interpretation/translation. - Minimum six months of experience providing interpretation/translation support. - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and Zoom. **Highly Preferred:** - Registered and active on the Minnesota Spoken Language Health Care Interpreter Roster. - Previous experience in Education or other Social Services field. **Why Hiawatha?** Hiawatha Academies is a network of college-preparatory schools dedicated to closing the opportunity gap in Minneapolis.
