About the team

We are Worldpay from FIS, an international leader in payments processing technology that services all types of businesses, big and small, online and traditional retail outlets. Our financial products include credit cards, ATM processing, merchant services, rewards, and fraud prevention. We specialize in delivering online payment services through our unique platform, the New Acquiring Platform (NAP), which sets us apart from the competition.

We are looking for proactive team players who want to work in the Fintech sector with likeminded individuals and develop robust and scalable applications for the growing market.

What you will be doing

• Contribute and support an Agile team in delivering commitments predictably and with quality.
• Perform design reviews, provide input, and estimate effort required for implementation.
• Design application components to meet business requirements and functional design.
• Develop source code in accordance with functional and technical design.
• Create unit and integration tests.
• Provide Level 3 support for maintenance and technical change requests.
• Suggest improvements and enhancements to working practices.
• Produce well-structured, maintainable, reliable, and high-quality code.
• Create builds, deployment baselines, deployment notes, and operating instructions.

What you bring

• A can-do attitude and a sense of responsibility for the wider implications of software engineering.
• Strong Java skills and experience with messaging systems like JMS or Kafka.
• Experience building large applications with a focus on memory and performance profiling.
• Working experience with Spring and Java frameworks/technologies.
• Proficiency with Java development tools and technologies.
• Strong database knowledge.
• Knowledge of unit testing, build and deployment processes, and Shell scripting.
• Passion for sharing knowledge and best practices.
• Ability to work in virtual teams and across multiple locations.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience as a Java Developer.
• Fluent English (written and verbal).

Added bonus if you have

• Sound understanding and experience of Agile working practices.
• Business knowledge of Payment systems.
• Knowledge of Test-Driven Development and test automation with Cucumber.
• AWS and Cloud architecture experience.
