About the Team

FIS SWIFT Service Bureau (aka SSB) provides SWIFT connectivity to our clients. As part of the team, you will be responsible for onboarding new clients, providing operations support, and working on infrastructural projects. You will also monitor and support our production applications, ensuring 99.9% uptime.

What You Will Be Doing

We are looking for an experienced engineer to join our SSB team. In this role, you will deploy, automate, maintain, and manage our products systems (test/production) to ensure availability, performance, scalability, and security.

What You Bring

Knowledge / Experience

  • At least 3 years of proven experience using YAML language with tools such as Ansible/Jenkins
  • Strong scripting experience in bash shell script, SQL queries in a Linux environment
  • Solid experience as a DevOps Engineer in a 24x7 uptime environment, including automation experience
  • Knowledge of Linux system administration
  • Experience with system monitoring tools (e.g. Linux embedded tools, Nagios, Xpolog)
  • Understanding of network topologies, common network protocols, and services (DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, FTP, SMTP, SNMP)
  • Willingness to work in a shift-based environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot application, communication interfaces, and system errors to guarantee application availability
  • Experience with a ticketing tool (such as SNOW) for change management

Skills

  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex infrastructure resources and application deployment issues
  • Experience with Agile software development and project management methodologies
  • Knowledge and experience with configuration management tools (e.g. SVN)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Excellent analytical skills for problem-solving
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently or in a team
  • Experience in documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support daily operations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (preferably Computer Science or Information Technology)

Competencies

  • Fluent in English
  • Attention to detail with a track record of authoring high-quality documentation
  • Organized approach to manage and adapt priorities according to client and internal requirements
  • Self-starter with a team mindset, able to work autonomously and as part of a global team

Nice to Have

  • Experience with system monitoring tools (e.g. Linux embedded tools, Nagios, Xpolog)
  • Knowledge of application security such as SSL, TLS
  • ITIL V3/V4 training or certification
