Role Summary:
The Cloud DevOps Engineer is responsible for building, deploying, maintaining and automating our cloud infrastructure components across multiple public cloud providers. You will be supporting the build, compliance and upkeep of FIS data platform's cloud infrastructure, automation, research and implementation to provide scalable, performant, and resilient data platforms infrastructure hosting products both for internal and external customers.

Job Description:

FIS is looking for a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer with experience in Cloud technology as well as a solid understanding of cloud security and networking.  The candidate will work with our Data Platform Engineering team to architect and drive cloud deployment standards and templates across the development lifecycle: from sandbox to concept, development, and production environments.  Candidate will build tooling to automate, simplify and secure processes around all aspects of hosting in the Cloud.  The candidate will feel comfortable collaborating and innovating with their colleagues and bring a fun attitude. This position requires five or more years of IT infrastructure, coding, and architecture experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver infrastructure solutions and standard practices in support of the organization and customers.
  • Investigate, architect and document solutions to security and configuration issues
  • Create and deploy Terraform code and ancillary technologies (such as Sentinel) to drive standards.
  • Create and deploy solutions using AWS and/or Azure Policy.
  • Formulate and define system scope through research and fact-finding combined with your experience.
  • Evaluate various FIS lines of business requirements, compare that with available cloud technologies, and through collaboration, produce a cloud-ready technical solution. 
  • Devise or modify procedure to solve complex problems considering capacity, and limitations, operation time and form of desired results.
  • Document technical strategies, objectives, and drivers.
  • Re-engineer processes to deliver greater effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Assess, apply, and project the impact of system changes on users and internal and external clients or stakeholders.
  • Continuously learn and experiment.
  • Other related duties are assigned as needed.

Education Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience is required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years working in infrastructure at a large IT organization (5000+ people)
  • 6+ months experience writing Azure and/or AWS Policy
  • Experience with Dome9 (or equivalent cloud security product)
  • 6+ months of Hashicorp Terraform development (or equivalent) with the following essential key understanding in these critical areas:
    • Terraform modules -- how to consume and contribute to them 
    • Terraform remote states 
    • Terraform state management
    • Proficient in translating abstract solutions into fully developed Terraform Enterprise code utilizing a combination of disciplines/concepts like modules and states.
  • Proficiency with GitHUB, BitBucket and Open Source
  • 2+ years designing and developing infrastructure solutions for Azure and AWS
    • Google Cloud experience is a bonus.
  • 2+ years of Application Support
  • 2+ years of coding solutions and scripting processes for automation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP technologies, JIRA, SNOW etc.
  • 2+ years of experience deploying and troubleshooting key cloud network technologies: e.g., load balancers, application load balancers, firewalls.  
  • 1+ years deploying Containers (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Strong familiarity with Public Cloud security
  • A passion for learning.
  • Advanced skills around working with people: the ability to listen and exhibit empathy to drive customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent customer service skills that build high levels of customer satisfaction for internal and external clients
  • Excellent collaborative skills and attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization, e.g., executive, management, individual contributors
