As an Analytics Engineer, you will be joining JobTeaser’s Data team, and report to Jérémy, our Lead Data Engineer.

The Data team is composed of 20 highly talented people (Data Analysts, Data Engineers, ML Engineers, Data Scientists, Researchers, …), and mainly acts on the 3 following missions:

  • Provide analytics expertise to support internal decision making and provide insights to our university partners and company clients: this includes designing the right metrics to follow our activity, assess the performance of our product features, monitor the performance of our acquisition campaigns, … and so much more ! We perform advanced analysis and build best-in-class data products (internal reports, embed analytics) that will help every team activate their data, make informed decisions, and fuel client and user satisfaction.
  • Democratize access to data inside the company, so everyone (Product Managers, Marketing people, Sales, Operations, C-Level, etc.) can easily and autonomously access the data they need, without depending too much on the Data team.
  • Develop algorithms to improve our users’ journey and help them find the best career path, explore the jobs and inspirational contents available on the platform, and match with the companies that match their aspirations and skills. 

As an Analytics Engineer, you will play a central role in the design and governance of our data model, and be THE main user of our newly implemented data transformation tool: dbt.

In your day-to-day, you will be interacting with a lot of people: 

  • Data Analysts from our two Analytics teams: the B2B Corporate Analytics team, in charge of company-related analytics topics, and the B2B University & B2C Analytics team, in charge of university- and student-related topics;
  • Data Engineers from your team and Developers inside squads, to make sure we collect the right data to feed the data transformations needed by the Analytics teams;
  • Business owners, to clarify business needs and bring up new insights for metrics design.

Your mission if you accept it:

  • Build data models
    • Work with data analysts, product managers, developers and data engineers to collect needs for data transformations
    • Define unique sources of truth for our metrics and dimensions
    • Implement data models in dbt
    • Make sure we make the most of dbt’s features, in particular through constant watch
  • Govern our data model
    • Keep overall consistency of our data model
    • Define policies and standards for data management
    • Ensure quality and reliability of our data model
    • Ensure the documentation of our data model in Notion
  • Evangelize around data management and dbt
    • Get our data analysts onboarded on data management practices and on dbt
    • Continuously train them through content creation in our LMS and/or dedicated training sessions
    • Document best practices in Notion

  • Ingestion: Kafka/Debezium, Airbyte
  • Transformation: dbt, Airflow
  • Storage/Compute: S3/Athena, postgreSQL
  • Dataviz: Tableau, Superset, Amplitude

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • You have at least 1 significant experience in Analytics Engineering with dbt
  • SQL has no more secrets for you
  • Experience with Airflow is a plus
  • You know how to deal with technical and non-technical stakeholders to collect needs, challenge them and make clear and informed decisions on the data model
  • You carry a clear technical vision on how to structure data management practices
  • You have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
  • You have a result-driven and impact-oriented mindset
  • Fluency in English
