Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Security Service Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot access control systems, IP video surveillance, and networked security devices in commercial and enterprise environments.
This role is ideal for technicians with hands-on experience in electronic security installation, low-voltage systems, physical security technology, and network-connected devices.
Position Overview
The Security Service Technician is responsible for installing, programming, servicing, and maintaining access control systems, CCTV/IP video systems, and related electronic security infrastructure at client sites.
The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills, experience working with low-voltage systems, and familiarity with enterprise security platforms and network-connected devices.
This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to work independently in the field, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to customers.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, configure, and service Access Control, CCTV, and IP Video Surveillance Systems
• Program and commission enterprise access control platforms and connected security devices
• Troubleshoot and repair electronic security hardware, controllers, readers, cameras, and power supplies
• Install and service low-voltage cabling, door hardware, strikes, and magnetic locks
• Perform diagnostics and resolve issues affecting system performance or network connectivity
• Interpret and work from engineered drawings, blueprints, and wiring diagrams
• Complete service documentation, job tickets, and installation reports
• Coordinate activities with project managers, field supervisors, subcontractors, and customers
• Provide support and guidance to junior technicians
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in safe working condition
• Participate in product training, safety training, and certification programs
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3–5+ years experience in electronic security, low-voltage systems, or access control installation
• Experience installing and servicing enterprise access control systems

Access Control Platforms
IP Video Surveillance Systems
• Experience with door hardware installation (strikes, maglocks, request-to-exit devices)
• Experience installing or servicing turnstiles or physical security barriers
• Knowledge of network switches, IP addressing, and network troubleshooting
• Ability to read and mark up engineering drawings (“redlining”) after installation
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision
Preferred Skills
• Experience with American Dynamics, Bosch, Avigilon, Milestone, or other VMS platforms
• Experience working with enterprise security systems or integrated security platforms
• Knowledge of structured cabling, Cat6, fiber, and low-voltage wiring standards
• Experience with commercial security system installations
• Familiarity with PoE devices, network infrastructure, and system integrations
