Job Description

Company is a DFSA licensed electronic money institution offering a range of digital financial services to its customers across the region. The Risk Manager will be responsible to design, implement and manage enterprise wide risk management program for the group covering all the countries where company is operational. 

You will undertake the following (non-exhaustive) lists of tasks:

  1. Designing and implementing an overall risk management programme for the organisation
  2. Analysing current risks and identifying potential risks that are affecting the company
  3. Evaluating the company’s previous handling of risks and comparing potential risks with criteria set out by the company such as costs and legal requirements.
  4. The level of risk the company is willing to take.
  5. Preparing risk management budget.
  6. Tailored to the relevant audience. (Educating the Board of Directors about the most significant risks to the business; ensuring business heads understand the risks that might affect their departments; ensuring individuals understand their own accountability for individual risks).
  7. External risk posed by corporate governance to stakeholders.
  8. Creating Business continuity plans to limit risks.
  9. Conducting Policy and compliance audits, which will include liaising with internal and external auditors.
  10. Reviewing any new major contracts or internal business proposal.
  11. Building risk awareness amongst staff by providing support and training within the company.
  12. Identify and manage risks to the organization, its employees, stakeholders, assets and operations and develop ERM strategies, objectives and policies that will establish the framework, tools and procedures to achieve successful risk identification and management within best practice standards.
  13. Analysing current risks and identifying potential risks that are affecting the company
  14. Risk reporting tailored to the relevant audience. (Educating the board of directors about the most significant risks to the business; ensuring business heads understand the risks that might affect their departments; ensuring individuals understand their own accountability for individual risks)
  15. Explaining the external risk posed by corporate governance to stakeholders
  16. Evaluate risk, which involves comparing estimated risks with criteria established by the organisation such as costs, legal requirements and environmental factors, and evaluate previous handling of risks
  17. Establish and quantify the organisation's 'risk appetite', i.e. the level of risk they are prepared to accept
  18. Undertake corporate governance involving external risk reporting to stakeholders

Qualifications

  1. Masters or Bachelor degree in Finance/Business/Quantitative Economics/Statistics or a qualified CA/CMA/ACCA 
  2. Qualification in risk management such as Financial Risk Managers (FRM), Professional Risk Manager (PRM), Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA), Certified Risk Managers (CRM).
  3. 10+ years’ experience with financial institutions only including but not limited to banking, payments, insurance, asset management, fintech etc
  4. Experience must be within ERM, Operational Risk, Credit Risk, Market Risk, Compliance and Legal Risk etc 
  5. Strong experience in implementation and management of risk tools and applications
