Job Description
Jeron Electronic Systems, Inc. is currently recruiting for a Human Resources Manager to provide strategic, hands-on management of all aspects of the HR function, including employee relations, benefits, payroll, recruitment, performance management, safety/OSHA compliance, workers compensation claims, employment law compliance, and leave management. The Human Resources Manager works closely with ownership to develop all HR programs, policies, and procedures, and then implements initiatives to field, office, and production employees. Additionally, the Human Resources Manager carries out all day-to-day HR functions.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Perform payroll processing via Paycor (Weekly and Biweekly)
- Provide full-cycle recruitment for all departments
- Maintain personnel records
- Manage all orientations and terminations
- Consult with managers and employees on performance management, compensation, disciplinary actions, training, development, and terminations
- Manage and track all employee leave, including FMLA and workers compensation situations
- Facilitate and maintain all employee performance reviews (annual and merit)
- Investigate and respond to employee concerns and complaints
- Keep employees informed of HR policies/programs including out of Illinois staff
- Develop new and interpret existing HR policies
- Provide guidance on employment laws and work with managers to ensure company-wide compliance, including annual required training sessions
- Partner with third-party service providers regarding benefit offerings, including insurance (medical, dental, vision, life, STD/LTD), HRA, FSA and DCA accounts, COBRA management and 401(k). Additionally, manage wellness program for staff and their dependents.
- Manage annual benefit renewal and open enrollment process
- Maintain compliance with corporate safety programs, OSHA laws, provide and post required reporting (OSHA-300A forms), and address OSHA complaints and inspections
- Review and research HR programs and activities and recommend changes or innovations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
- SHRM-CP/SCP and/or PHR/SPHR Certification preferred
- Minimum five years of experience in human resources management preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Exhibits HR competencies including, action oriented, influencing others, excellent oral and written communication skills, negotiation, collaboration with employees at all levels, and technical knowledge of HR function
- Working knowledge of employment laws and compliance requirements
- Flexibility and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Working knowledge of all human resource functional areas, including legal aspects, employee relations, recruiting, payroll, benefit administration, leave, compensation, performance, workers’ compensation, and safety
