Job Description

We are looking for a Paid Media Director & Market Lead to spearhead our Paid Media and broader digital media capabilities in South Korea. As Paid Media Director you will be reporting to Regional VP, Paid Media (APAC) you will create high-impact in this role which is designed for a digitally native, commercially minded leader with expertise in both global platforms (Google Ads and Meta – required) and Korean performance ecosystems including NAVER, Kakao/Daum, and Coupang Ads.

You will focus on scaling our Paid Media presence in the market, driving client success and commercial growth, and building and sustaining a high-performing local team. The successful candidate will be accountable for the profitability, strategic direction, and operational excellence of the Korean Paid Media function.

You will also play a strategic, client-facing role for local and regional initiatives while collaborating with cross-market teams of channel and platform specialists. This person will often be a strategic investment lead: guiding media activation strategy, unlocking value for clients, and championing best-in-class media solutions that blend local nuance with global standards.

 

Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include:

 

1. People Management & Local Market Leadership

  • You will build, lead, and grow a high-performing team of 5–10+ Paid Media professionals based in South Korea and across APAC delivery hubs.
  • Foster a learning-led, high-accountability, and inclusive team culture.
  • You will develop team members through active coaching, mentorship, and growth planning.
  • You will be a local market lead for Paid Media: managing team performance, overseeing resource planning, and driving long-term capability maturity.
  • Represent Jellyfish in local forums, partner events, and new business development efforts, serving as a credible leader in the Korean digital ecosystem.

2. Strategic Direction

  • Define and execute the Paid Media strategy for South Korea in alignment with APAC and global goals.
  • Lead innovation across media planning, activation, and measurement—balancing local platform execution with global strategy alignment.
  • Champion scalable operations, campaign QA, and delivery excellence across all media types.
  • Embed best-in-class practices across Search, Social, Display/Video, and Retail Media.

3. Client & Partner Relationship Management

  • Be a strategic advisor for key clients, helping shape their investment approach and media mix.
  • You will lead senior relationships with Korean and regional clients; support cross-market campaigns led by channel specialists.
  • Build and maintain trusted partnerships with key local platforms (NAVER, Kakao, Coupang) and global partners (Google, Meta, etc.).
  • Work collaboratively with other Jellyfish capability leads (Data, Analytics, Creative, Tech, etc.) to deliver integrated, value-driven solutions.

4. Commercial Accountability & GMP Growth

  • Take commercial ownership for the growth and sustainability of the Korean Paid Media function—including revenue planning, staffing alignment, and margin management.
  • Support business development and client retention, including new business pipeline support and strategic pitch involvement.
  • Expand local adoption of Google Marketing Platform tools (SA360, DV360, Campaign Manager 360)—with a focus on enablement, consultation, and sophistication building.
  • Deliver performance reporting and strategic insight to APAC leadership, with a continuous improvement mindset.

Qualifications

  • 10 to 12+ years of experience in Paid Media, with leadership in Search, Social, Programmatic, and Retail/Commerce Media.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Ads and Meta Ads (required), across both brand and performance objectives.
  • Deep familiarity with Korean digital platforms: including NAVER Powerlink, Brand Search, GFA/Display Ads, Shopping Ads; Kakao Bizboard, Kakao Moment; and Coupang Ads.
  • Experience with Google Marketing Platform tools (SA360, DV360, CM360)
  • Experience managing digital media teams in matrixed or multi-market organisations.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to balance client success with business sustainability.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills in Korean and English.
  • Experience working with or alongside international clients and global agency teams.
  • Strategic thinking, media investment leadership, and ability to influence across functions.
