The Commercial Analyst supports the Commercial Finance Manager by providing data-driven insights on customer and brand performance to drive growth and profitability in the Asia Pacific region. This role partners with the Sales Director and Commercial team to develop, analyse, and report on group performance.
Job Description
What You’ll Do:
Financial Planning and Analysis
Analyse financial performance against targets and identify areas for improvement across the region, focusing on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as customer profitability, profitability by SKU, performance to plan, and tracking trade spend. Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis as needed to support strategic decision-making in specific markets within APAC.
Budget and Forecasting
Ensure the sales rolling forecast process is followed and collaborate with Sales & Production to identify risks and opportunities in a timely manner. Forecast future financial performance based on market trends, economic indicators, and operational plans. Coordinate the annual budgeting process.
Business Intelligence
Oversee the development and maintenance of business intelligence dashboards and reports using Jet Reports, data warehouse, and Microsoft Dynamics ERP. Analyse large datasets from manufacturing outputs, market sales information, and consumer research to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities. Develop a daily sales tracking model for APAC using Power BI.
Business Partnering
Partner primarily with Sales, but also with Marketing and Operations teams, to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of financial information for the APAC region.
Stakeholder Management
Communicate effectively with senior management, regional leaders, and other stakeholders in the APAC region to provide financial updates and insights. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the region and Group to foster collaboration and support.
Qualifications
What You Bring to the Table:
- Advanced degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior FP&A or commercial finance role, preferably in a multinational corporation with operations in the Asia Pacific region.
- Strong understanding of financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel skills, with ideally experience with Power Query, Power Automate, and other data analysis tools
- Knowledge of data warehousing and data management practices
- Sound knowledge of data warehousing and data management practices

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A solution-focused mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships at all levels.
