Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Warehouse Team Lead provides leadership/direction to lead the department, and ensures staffing and schedules are adhered to. Completes documentation and carries out responsibilities in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Hours: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 5am -5pm

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Job Functions)

The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:

GENERAL

  • Manage start-up to ensure proper materials are available throughout the shift.
  • Follow daily production schedule and achieve specified goals.
  • Works closely with Supervisor to plan and schedule work for team.
  • Update Supervisor on a regular basis about progress on the daily production schedule.
  • Recognizes and performs duties which need to be performed, although not directly assigned.
  • Completes reports and reviews for management. Handles and deals with customer, carrier, and employee issues.
  • Complete all daily production paperwork completely and monitor others for accuracy.
  • Perform inventories and reporting in a timely manner.
  • Ensure products are correctly labeled and identified for proper disposition, and FIFO rotation.
  • Operating mechanical forklifts, pallet jacks, and stock picker lift trucks.
  • Operating and maintaining RF Scanner (handheld warehouse computer).
  • Accurate and timely selecting of customers’ orders  
  • Accurately completing work order sheets.  
  • Working on both the Receiving and Shipping docks as needed.  
  • Unload trucks and validate deliveries against appropriate documentation, and notify supervisor or FSQ of discrepancies.
  • Unload meat trucks and complete weighing and temperature review of each pallet and documenting each measurement. Notify Supervisor or Food Safety Quality (FSQ) of any discrepancies.
  • Ensure products are correctly labeled and identified for proper storing and use.
  • Distribute the items received to the person or department for which the item was ordered.
  • Daily shipments must be picked, counts verified, pallets wrapped or stacked neatly for pick-ups, marked accordingly to customer, transportation and location of shipment.
  • Load finished goods onto trailer within specified timeframe.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of finished products and supplies in the warehouse.
  • Cleaning and maintaining warehouse floor and facilities as needed. 
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary.

SAFETY                                                                                                                              10%

  • Perform all duties within OSHA and company safety standards; LOTO, wear PPE and maintain safety equipment.
  • Enforce all safety rules and company policies.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.
  • Immediately report all accidents and deficiencies to management; complete accident investigations.
  • Ensure safety devices are installed and working properly.
  • Monitor work environment for general food safety hazards such as condensation monitoring, etc.

  • Communicate with peers, subordinates, and leaders in an effective, timely manner.
  • Keep management informed daily of problems incurred during the shift.
  • Communication to and for the team.
  • Confer with appropriate personnel to coordinate activities between departments.
  • Suggest improvements; continuously improve the quality of all support activities.

 

PERSONNEL                                                                                                                       15%

 

  • Follow good manufacturing practices and HACCP training, along with company SOP’s, and SSOP’s.
  • Assists in training all new personnel hired into the department.
  • Address employee concerns and coach employees on proper behaviors and performance.
  • Contribute to the employee performance appraisal process by providing behavior and performance feedback to the Operations Manager/Supervisor.
  • Directly supervises the performance and efficiency of all Team Members, relaying necessary personnel information to the Department Supervisor.
  • Ensure team members are properly attired and ready to start production promptly at start time, and after authorized breaks.

Required Experience:       1 + year of manufacturing experience

 

Preferred:  Experience in the warehouse and related equipment

Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License.  Must be able to safety operate a forklift.
