JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Suppler Compliance Manager is responsible for determining the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all Supplier Compliance as they relate to achieving overall Support Center Food Safety and Quality Initiatives. This is a relationship driven position both internally and externally. Manage all aspects of product stewardship including global regulatory compliance as it relates to the Supply Chain. Your expertise and experience will provide regulatory guidance on Jack Link’s product compliance and development and any quality issues which may arise. Cross functional work with Procurement, FSQ, R and D, Operations and DC’s.

The Suppler Compliance Manager will additionally support product safety and compliance by establishing and maintaining the Supplier Compliance program this includes Raw Material Suppliers, Packaging Suppliers, Ingredient Suppliers, Co-manufacturers and Co-packers. Develop and maintain Supplier Compliance guidance document program for Jack Link’s and systems for managing non-conformance to include Supplier Corrective Action Requests. Functions of the position include assisting the Global FSQ team which includes supplier regulatory compliance, supplier quality system management, internal/external auditing, recalls, nonconformance, and compliance improvement programs. Final Approver of all Suppliers within the supply chain of JL North America. Accountable and responsible for raw material and product certifications. Obtain and retain all required information for all raw material suppliers to assure compliance and approve all changes in composition, process, new facilities, etc...

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Job Functions)

The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:

 

FSQ - Supply Chain

  • Assure all state, local, and federal Food Safety regulatory issues are adhered to, and implement changes. 
  • Monitor, identify, and coordinate export requirements; communicate issues. 
  • Function as the liaison between the plant and the supply chain as issues elevate from plant level.
  • Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) – clear understanding of SQF and BRC as it relates to our business.
  • Develop and maintain Supplier Corrective Action Response (SCAR) for internal and external suppliers.
  • Maintain a guidance manual for suppliers regarding Jack Link’s FSQ expectations regarding the supply chain.
  • Update (as needed) JL Internal/External Audit forms.
  • Lead Internal and External (Supplier) auditing, to include regular cadence of auditing process.
  • Engage in Trade Associations regarding Export and others as deemed appropriate by Sr. FSQ Director.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required Education:  Bachelor of Science degree in Management or Administration 

Required Experience:  5+ years industry or experience in supplier relations, meat processing, food processing, or related field.

While performing the duties of this job the Team Member is regularly required to sit, will be required to wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (i.e beard/hairnet, ear plugs, frock, boots, etc), stand for periods of time, and use hands/arms to push, pull, reach and occasionally lift above head.  The Team Member must occasionally lift, push, pull up to 25 pounds. Team Members are requested to visually inspect equipment and/or product.  

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The work environment is a plant/office setting with varying degrees of temperatures and noise levels. Exposure to manufacturing equipment movement and wet/slippery floors and will be required to follow all Food Safety Quality requirements. Up to 50% Travel may be required.
