Job Description

The IT SAP Program Delivery Manager is accountable for successfully delivering technology programs across global LSI.  This us a hybrid position is based in Minneapolis, MN and not a remote role.  You will be on site two to three days a week. This role will lead efforts to document requirements, facilitate resource allocation, create program planning, chart progress, and communicate status. This dynamic, highly visible role will work to deliver scalable, sustainable technology solutions/programs across global LSI. Collaborating with our BRM Team, the SAP Program Delivery Manager will partner with IT and Business teams to drive transformational growth, leading efforts to leverage talent across multiple cross-functional areas, leading cross-functional teams from requirements through final program deployment. The role identifies program schedules, scope, assists in budget estimation, creates implementation plans and risk mitigation efforts.

The ideal candidate must possess sound SAP Program Delivery experience implementing mission critical solutions and a solid understanding of how large-scale software systems are designed, built, tested and deployed. The ability to effectively partner, establish and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders, solve problems and provide accurate project status is essential.

The duties and responsibilities of this position consist of, but are not limited to the following:

  • Plan and manage a portfolio of large-scale, mission critical technology delivery programs across multiple functional areas within a CPG environment
  • Drive program delivery of an SAP S4 transformation program, including program planning, support and maintaining processes for managing resources and scope during the program delivery lifecycle
  • Set performance and quality standards, partnering with IT/Business to drive results and mitigate risk
  • Defines delivery schedules, prioritizes components, and manages program, program delivery and initiatives
  • Assign and monitor resources to ensure program delivery efficiency, maximize business value of deliverables
  • Report program outcomes and/or risks to IT Leadership, escalate issues, as necessary, according to the plan
  • Understand and leverage the role of product managers, product owners, and business analysts to attain results
  • Coach project team members to build capability, strengthen ability, and improve skill sets
  • Effectively promote business projects and value to the IT leaders and community
  • Partner with Business Analysts, IT and Business Process Owners, to help business units define new capabilities
  • Communicate business needs with appropriate IT BRM, gain alignment, and determine technical needs
  • Gather high-level business requirements and define scope during initial discovery by conducting meetings/interviews, and facilitating large group/cross-functional sessions with partners
  • Assist in the identification and development of key metrics used to track results and value delivery
  • Provide input to and details on cost, value, and opportunity to optimize IT spend (CAPEX and OPEX)
  • Lead development of business cases requiring IT-based solutions
  • Interface with vendors to understand whether vendor products will meet business requirements
  • Monitor that the solutions are meeting the business partner’s expectations
  • Refine SLAs based on business need, skillfully setting/re-setting expectations
  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of industry and technology trends, and make recommendations for implementation of new/upgraded systems and technologies
  • Maintain knowledge of multiple business functions and initiatives to identify where conflicts/synergies exist between technologies and business functions
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities such as testing and training as discovered, directed or necessary

Qualifications

Required Education:  BS/BA Degree or equivalent work experience

Required Experience: 

  • 10 years of experience in an information systems environment with 5+ years of IT program delivery experience in Consumer Products industry, leading high-profile programs across one or more functional domains
  • Experience navigating and successfully implementing SAP, preferably S4/HANA. Drive program delivery schedule and support process, ensuring compliance to project standards and timely program delivery.  
  • Experience in SAP Program methodologies. Ability to provide input to functional specifications and make recommendations to system optimization, support and guidance
  • Experience in requirements gathering, prioritization, collaborating across multiple business teams
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with a variety of audiences including various levels of management, vendors, business teams with varied levels of skill/experience. Ability to clearly communicate technical subject matter to a non-technical audience. Strong people skills in a diverse cultural environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a demanding environment and make sound decisions in urgent situations. Must possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
  • Must have experience and knowledge of change management principles and methodologies and can formulate innovative programs to generate excitement and engagement
  • Financial acumen along with a sound understanding of data flows and one or more functional areas (e.g., Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales/Trade, Human Resources).
  • A highly collaborative work style which includes working effectively across all organizational levels
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority, especially among development teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple, concurrent, projects, manage vendors effectively and be responsive to users and IT staff in a timely manner
  • Demonstrated ability to establish strong partnerships across business and technology areas

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE and ABILITIES:

  • Strong analytical skills to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources
  • CPG industry experience
  • Ability to distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements
  • Influential leader able to facilitate discussions between multi-functional teams and enable them to discover solutions to complex problems, manage stakeholder expectations and resolve conflicts
  • Expert collaborator, capable of managing multiple initiatives with conflicting priorities simultaneously with a high degree of independence
  • Ability to validate data obtained via other techniques and expose new areas for elicitation
  • Application domain knowledge is a plus
  • Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary best practices and guidelines
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills
