Job Description

The Vice President - Walmart & Sam’s Club, will reside in Bentonville, AR and will drive the overall business strategy, customer relationship and joint business plan to deliver category, sales, profit, and share growth targets. This role will lead direct team members and manage cross-functional partnerships to deliver customer-centered strategies.  Critical internal partnerships include marketing, supply chain, business insights, and finance.

PRIMARY ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

STRATEGIC BUSINESS PLANNING

  • Develop & align long-term and near-term strategy and specific initiatives, considering company direction, customer priorities, market parameters & resources, designed to deliver sales, share, and profit goals.
  • Lead team to develop thought-leading initiatives and insights that impact national strategy.
  • Lead sales forecasting to ensure forecast accuracy and inventory sufficiency to fulfill demand.
  • Aggregate & analyze large amounts of complex data quickly and distill data into clear, viable action plans.
  • Allocate resources where investment has the highest payback and with initiatives of strategic importance/relevance.
  • Drive annual, quarterly and monthly business planning process for assigned customer base.
  • Monitor market trends, assess risks/opportunities and develop plans to address.

ACCOUNT LEADERSHIP

  • Lead joint business planning across customers to align targets & growth building blocks to enable sales/share targets.
  • Improve relationships and expand scope of influence across customers by adding value through thought leadership and strategic partnerships.
  • Consistently evaluate ROI investment, and make appropriate choices and adjustments.
  • Issue clear direction and guidelines concerning priorities and KPIs.

CROSS FUNCTIONAL TEAM LEADERSHIP

  • Build a best in class, cross-functional team that embraces innovation, data driven decision-making and creativity to deliver top and bottom-line results.
  • Develop strong, collaborative working relationships across the organization to ensure alignment to strategic choices, business plans, resource allocation and KPIs.
  • Actively contribute to a wide variety of team priorities as part of the Sales & Customer Development leadership team.
  • Ensure individual/career development, motivate and coach direct reports to maximize team potential.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 15 + years’ experience in sales, within related industry
  • 5 + years’ experience leading teams
  • Experience managing accounts across national retailers; Walmart and Sam’s Club experience preferred
