Job Description

Primary focus of this position is to provide daily hands on support for Plant Operations in order to achieve goals. Understanding of key performance metrics and activities that drive continuous improvement projects to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost. You will provide support for multiple value streams regarding safety, quality, service, product cost, process improvements and Team Member Feedback. You will lead cross functional projects and teams to accomplish and complete CI objectives and goals. 

The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Work along with the Plant Leadership Team to monitor and improve Plant targets and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Rotate as needed to all shifts to conduct, train and educate the teams on CI activities.
  • Establish action plans and follow-up meetings as needed to advance process improvements to achieve targets.
  • Continually challenge individuals and teams to improve through systematic application of continuous improvement methodologies and leading by example.
  • Facilitate LEAN improvement teams to help with data analysis, problem solving and presentation of solutions to various levels of the organization.
  • Using data, team knowledge and problem solving analysis tools to determine Root Cause(s) and Corrective Action Plans. Train out the findings to the teams on all shifts as needed.
  • Work with the 2M leadership team to follow up and ensure implemented improvement actions are taking place as defined.
  • Maintain excellent communications with Operations, HR, Finance, Quality, Maintenance, RSD and Safety departments on an as needed basis.
  • Identify, participate in, and lead Rapid Improvement Projects that reduce costs and improve systems.
  • Establish and document standard work, playbooks, visual systems and auditing processes that capture and sustain improvement activities.
  • Responsible for maintaining and administering our training programs.
  • Responsible for maintaining plant capacity model as well as providing periodic analysis and modeling based on business needs.

 

Qualifications

3-5 years industry experience. 

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Chemical or other related field.  Will consider candidates with another technical degree and  related experience.

Experience or education in Statistical Process control, root-cause analysis and or other analytical methods. 

Strong and effective communication and presentation skills. 

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. 

Experience with Power BI preferred.

The work environment is a plant / office setting with varying degrees of temperatures and noise levels. Exposure to manufacturing equipment movement and wet / slippery floors. Travel may be required.
