Job Description

Join Jack Links as our SVP, Marketing to lead the strategic direction of the North America marketing function for the Jack Link’s family of branded products. In this role, you will drive the brand strategies, creative direction, grow core products, lead the innovation platform working with R&D, create/leverage new growth channels and product sectors, market strategy, grow market share and provide a long-term roadmap aligned with Link Snack’s aggressive growth plans. You will leverage the Jack Link’s state-of-the-art Innovation Center to develop breakthrough new products with R&D and will serve as strategic and visionary leader for Marketing while managing effective communication and coordination between sales and operations along with other internal departments, teams and external resources.

This position is a senior executive with deep and broad experience within the food or broader consumer products industry. You will have have worked within a generally acknowledged top-tier marketing organization and have demonstrated the ability to consistently deliver results. We are seeking a broad marketing experience across multiple areas of the commercial and/or general management functions.

To help Jack Link’s achieve its ambitious growth objectives, you will provide critical input to the Senior Leadership Team to ensure all company objectives are achieved, profit and revenue goals are attained, and translate product, packaging and technology opportunities into commercialized solutions. This will include guiding and leading transformational change that has a broad impact on the achievement of results to the enterprise and align the organization and drive team member engagement to deliver business results.

Ultimately, as our SAVP, Marketing, you will drive the vision and purpose of the entire marketing function and apply your strategic mindset to develop and mobilize all Link Snacks, Inc. marketing resources to drive results and deliver the highest return on investment. Central to the success of this role, and through valuing differences, you will lead the development of talent and build effective teams throughout the entire marketing function.

Specifically, you will:

  • Develop, communicate and implement the strategic vision for the Marketing organization
  • Identify, communicate and track key operational metrics that directly link to results in the P&L
  • Drive a culture that’s passionate about producing the highest quality product every day, and has the tools and processes in place to measure customer satisfaction. A champion of the Jack Link’s values. 
  • Build a strong marketing talent base and leadership bench. Develop talent development plans to support short and long-range business plans
  • Establish credibility throughout the organization with management and team members in order to be an effective leader, listener and problem solver of people issues
  • Develop and manage the Marketing budget and other financial measures of the department
  • Build and enhance recognition of Jack Link’s product offerings
  • Identify and capitalize on new channels of distribution such as e-commerce
  • Define, implement, and manage Jack Link’s marketing strategy for optimal performance while demonstrating tangible ROI’s
  • Craft messaging and positioning in the market; competitive and market analysis
  • Lead customer-centric thinking and craft programs to meet those target markets and consumers
  • Establish goals and create strategy for meeting marketing deliverables and metrics
  • Be an effective leader and ensure all marketing programs are successful and goal oriented
  • Work closely with fellow team members to ensure the implementation of marketing strategies company-wide while working effectively and collaboratively with Global Marketing Leaders and the Global Senior Team
  • Provide direct/indirect supervision to the marketing organization team members

Qualifications

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field.

Required Experience:

  • A minimum of 20 years of marketing experience, trained in blue-chip consumer food or consumer packaged goods company.
  • Experience leading a large, complex and multi-disciplined marketing function.
  • Experience working with consumer packaged goods or other consumer brands.
  • Proven track record in leading talent (developing, coaching, mentoring, directing) and budget management.
  • Experience with using a full range of statistical and analytical tools and fundamentals.            

Required skills, knowledge and abilities: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must work effectively with all levels of management and team members and customers.
  • Influence and problem solving skills with the ability to operate with ambiguity when process and tools are not readily available.
  • Demonstrated experience effectively building and maintaining strong working relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrated experience with self-directed, forward thinking to make complex decisions that drive business performance.
  • Must demonstrate effective leadership, problem solving, presentation, and team member motivational skills.
  • Proficient in Internet navigation, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
