Job Description

The Director of Finance will coordinate and manage projects and recurring activities within the following  primary areas of responsibility: development and preparation of financial statements including but not limited to income statement, balance sheet and cash flows, financial reporting and analysis, technical accounting, maintaining the general ledger, control environment over financial reporting, budgeting & forecasting  and the global month-end accounting close processes.

Within these areas, you will develop and prepare period ending financial statements, projections, analytics surrounding the results of operations, research complex technical accounting matters and provide appropriate interpretation of the relevant guidance, documenting positions in a formal memoranda when necessary and assisting in the global implementation of new accounting standards. You will manage the process of preparing, presenting and analyzing financial statements and any shareholder or management reporting and will be expected to help meet deadlines as set by management. You will work closely with senior leadership and business managers to ensure the integrity of the financial reporting, analytics as well as the external audit firm to meet deadlines.

You will participate in the strategic planning process at the business unit level and work with the business unit finance teams in the development of three to five year growth objectives, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets, action plans for how to accomplish these objectives and the resulting financial forecasts for the Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Statement of Cash Flows.

You will work with business unit management in establishing and maintaining bank relationships including managing treasury operations, obtaining debt financing, ensuring compliance with debt facilities and identification of the need to expand or extend debt facilities.

You will also play a key role in managing projects designed to identify and implement process improvements, revenue and earnings growth and automation within period-end accounting close activities, to adopt new accounting standards, and to refine and evolve the financial reporting and analytical processes.

 

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting Required.  Masters Degree or CPA certification preferred

7+ years of applicable experience required.  Experience working within a privately held/ family owned company preferred.

SAP, BPC, and experience with global consolidation and the consumer packaged goods industry is a plus and preferred

Proven successful manager and team player with thorough understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements, including accounting standards, financial control and other authoritative guidance.

Ability to summarize and simplify complex business issues.

Strong project management, time management and organizational skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must work effectively with all levels of management, employees and the external audit team.

Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
