Job Description

The Demand Planning Manager role is a highly visible role focused on the leadership and development of demand plans and integration point for forecast activities associated with customer orders and sales forecast. This position plays a key leadership role in the S&OP process and participates in driving alignment with cross functional partners. This position leads the dialogue to develop a consensus forecast of customer demand each month.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Develop, lead and coach a high performing demand planning team

·       Develop demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons

·       Work with the Director, Operations Planning to assemble and analyze relevant data pertinent to creating the demand forecast including; historical sales trends, current market and industry trends, seasonality, promotions, new products, etc.

·       Determine key-drivers of low accuracies and identify opportunities to develop and improve exception based reports

·       Interact with sales, marketing, sourcing and finance to understand demand forecast drivers

·       Establish best practices to determine alternate planning approaches for items which are difficult to forecast using traditional techniques

·       Provide input/direction to Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products and product phase-outs

·       Lead on-going evaluation and evolution of S&OP processes. Maintain documentation and standard work for demand planning processes and systems

·       Collaborate with Supply Chain peers to drive service, understand inventory risks, opportunity assessments, SKU rationalization and overall business analytics

·       Guide direct reports to ensure requirements and measures of performance of those positions are met

·       Provides continuous feedback to employees regarding their job performance

·       Develop and maintain a positive, motivated work team. Be a model on meeting customer needs

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION

·       Bachelors Degree in business, supply chain or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience

·       APICS or equivalent Supply Chain certification preferred

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

·       6+ years of experience in executing, managing or leading demand planning in a similar role in Consumer Packaged Goods Company

·       Manufacturing experience required

·       Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts

·       Advanced level of proficiency in Excel

·       Hands-on experience with SAP APO Demand Planner highly desirable

·       Must have strong understanding and experience of demand management principals and processes coupled with end to end supply chain operational processes

·       Experience introducing/working with supply chain solutions, software and systems is beneficial

·       Ability to work in a team oriented environment that is fast paced and demanding

·       Demonstrated ability to influence in cross-functional situations

·       Exhibits a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energy

·       Track record of developing and implementing change which positively impacts company performance

·       Travel as necessary estimated up to 10%

·       Candidate must demonstrate integrity and dedication have a positive work attitude and strong work ethic
