Job Description

The Pilot Plant and Lab Technician is part of Jack Links’ Research and Development Team and will play a crucial role in the new product creation process.

This is a full-time temporary position.

The selected individual will work closely with Food Scientists and Engineers in our kitchen, lab, and pilot plant at our downtown Minneapolis location. 

The Innovation Kitchen is the place where our new products take shape and come to life.  This role is integral to our new product development by prepping the food and equipment and assisting with the product runs.

This individual will gain experience in the execution of corporate research, development, and innovation initiatives including:

  • New Product Innovation
  • Product and Process Improvement
  • Quality
  • Food Safety

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Organize ingredients, equipment, and tools for processing and cleaning
  • Calibrate analytical equipment
  • Set-up equipment
  • Run equipment
  • Clean equipment and work spaces
  • Take out garbage and recyclables
  • Restock ingredients and supplies
  • Test products and packaging with analytical equipment

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred experience:

  • Currently working on or possess a degree in Food Science or related
  • Lab or production environment experience
  • Meat processing industry knowledge and experience
  • Able to take direction or daily and weekly tasks
  • Comfortable in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with various team members
