Job Description

Come Run with Sasquatch as our Director of Sales for the Dollar/Hardware/Military Channels to own the sales process from identifying new business, cultivating relationships with retail and distributor customers, and executing sales, program and innovation that will drive growth to meet the goals of Jack Links’ business plan. This role and team of four account managers reports rolls up to our VP of Sales, Small Format Channels. this team manages customers and brokers in the Dollar, Hardware and Military Channels. Key to this role is to deliver Gross/Net Revenue, Trade Fund, Selling Expense and Profit goals. This is a highly-visible role accountable for delivering significant revenue growth.

Specifically, you will:

  • Execute the strategy of the Dollar, Hardware and Military Channels to deliver on AOP goals
  • Establish senior level customer relationships with national customers in the Dollar, Hardware and Military channels.
  • Manage team of 4 sales team members, including National Sales Managers and National Account Managers.
  • Manage team’s trade spending to drive profitable business, including use of trade promotion management system
  • Review sales progress, strategies and business opportunities and develop plans to correct any business shortfall
  • Collaborate with internal functions to develop customer specific programs/items/POS to build the business
  • Utilize data and analytics to review business performance, identify business opportunities
  • Understand and utilize P&L’s to drive financial performance, including managing A/R and Deductions
  • Accountable for the development and accuracy of sales forecast by market and product to drive production planning
  • Provide business updates to Senior Sales Management on sales results/opportunities
  • Understand and report back on competitive landscape and activity
  • Perform Account Reviews, Sales calls, Broker Reviews and development with NAM’s  

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following education, experiences and skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in CPG Sales and 3+ years managing and developing a team of leaders required
  • Prior experience working in large CPG food/beverage manufacturer as well as experience in smaller entrepreneurial environment 
  • Experience using data to develop fact-based selling materials (i.e., POS data, household panel / loyalty data, Kantar, Technomics, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Travel 50-75%, so candidate must live near a major airport

Preferred: 

  • Prior experience in HQ Selling, Sales Planning, Sales Strategy or Distributor Development role
  • MBA/Master’s Degree
