Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Plan, direct and coordinate the operations of an organization. This position is responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of departmental and organizational operations through the provision of effective methods and strategies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Manage the daily operations of the Plant with a focus on team member and food safety
  • Ensure daily production planning is in accordance with supply chain needs
  • Communicate and resolve all quality and production issues with appropriate team members
  • Support quality standards, inventory accuracy and production planning schedules
  • Ensure effective resource allocation and use of equipment
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve plant and company objectives
  • Collaborate and oversee other levels of the organization
  • Monitor variations in production process and report to Quality
  • Coach, motivate and engage team member in all aspects of operations to support the culture
  • Responsible for team member development, performance management and staffing
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings to communicate changes, updates or notifications
  • Review / monitor monthly operations budget and discuss budget overruns
  • Adhere to food safety policies and all government food safety and sanitation regulations (ex. USDA, HACCP, GMP, OSHA)
  • Assist in preparation of annual operation budgets and capital expenditures for plant operations in order to achieve budgets
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary.

Safety:

  • Perform all duties within OSHA and company safety standards; LOTO, wear PPE and maintain safety equipment.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.
  • Ensure safety devices are installed and working properly.

Qualifications

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required Education:         Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of 10 years of applicable work experience

Required Experience:      

  • 5 + years in a manager role in manufacturing/food industry preferred
  • Must be experienced with GMP’s, sanitation standards and FDA/SQF requirements.
  • Knowledge of several lines of equipment, fillers, labelers, palletizers and conveyors.

Preferred:

  •  Experience with Kronos a plus.
  •  3 years of managing groups of teams to establish and achieve production, safety, quality objectives, and continuous improvement in a high-paced manufacturing environment.
  •  Previous supervisory experience should include, strong facilitation, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written), strong computer skills.

  • Proficient with ERP (SAP) systems and Microsoft Office
