Job Description

The Legal Assistant will play a critical role in assisting the Jack Link’s legal team with a variety of legal administrative responsibilities:

  • Maintain legal files in an electronic document management system

  • Prepare drafts of legal documents and correspondence

  • File business registrations and similar documents with appropriate state agencies

  • Oversee matter management system and master file list

  • File executed contracts and other metadata into the contract repository

  • Code legal invoices to the appropriate cost center and legal matter type

  • Maintain spreadsheets tracking legal expenses by matter type and prepare reports of legal expenses

  • Assist with other department responsibilities including gathering data and preparing summary reports, preparing drafts of presentations, coordinating and scheduling meetings as needed

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors or Associates degree
  • Highly organized
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work as a team as well as cross-functionally
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word

Preferred:

  • Legal Assistant experience 
  • Associates degree in Paralegal Studies
  • Experience with netdocuments or other document management software

This position will offer the opportunity to grow in responsibilities for an individual who takes initiative and is willing to expand his or her knowledge through training and hands-on experience.
