Job Description

As the Logistics Coordinator you will be responsible for executing competitive logistic solutions while working closely with customers and suppliers. You will be scheduling and monitoring shipments from facilities, obtaining necessary documents and maintaining good working relationships with ocean carriers as well as trucking companies.

 

As well you support and help in managing all communication related to international ocean freight. You will need to ensure timely & accurate shipping, customs & trade documentation, & maximize efficiency in the inbound freight process.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain accurate inventory transactions, and ensure that systems are updated
  • Assist in data entry of orders, shipments, and transfers.
  • Assist with the management of warehouse shipments and receipts.
  • Update tracking tools to monitor KPIs and performance.
  • Prepare and track distribution load out reports & other shipping documents.
  • Provide follow-up for outstanding orders in collaboration with shipping, dispatch and buying teams.
  • Coordinate bookings with freight forwarders
  • Closely monitor & follow up on shipments
  • Update shipment status, issue arrival notices
  • Handle ocean import/export freight documents/provide customs broker with documentation
  • Verification of OBL & payment requirements prior to shipment release; chasing documents when required
  • Track and report any extra costs such as demurrage, detention, exam fees, etc.
  • Review/Reconcile freight invoices
  • Communicate and respond promptly to all incoming freight inquiries (internally and from business partners both domestic and overseas) in order to properly manage and control daily operations
  • Analyze data and improve efficiencies where needed
  • Creating, follow up, and resolving supplier / shipping claims
  • Duty Free documents tracking for countries with free trade agreement

KNOWLEDGE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Inventory reconciliation experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail, able to prioritize and multitask, self-motivated, and committed to getting the job done.
  • Capable of working in a team environment and support others in similar job functions.
  • Intermediate MS Excel knowledge required

Experience:

  • 1-3 years related experience

Education:

  • Post-secondary Diploma preferred

Additional Information

Work requires moderate physical effort and use of motor skills requiring manual dexterity. While performing duties of this job, the Colleague will regularly sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel and crouch.

Colleague will frequently lift, sort carry, and place merchandise and supplies of varying sizes weighing up to 20 kg without assistance and over 20 kg with team lifting.
