Job Description

The Managing Director oversees all phases of engagements, including meeting with clients and/or counsel to gather information for reports and financial analyses/models, analyzing and critiquing opposing parties' claims, managing staff, and working closely with other Managing Directors of the firm.   The primary responsibility of the position is to enable, drive, and deliver high-quality advice and recommendations to clients as the lead relationship owner and testifier. This person will be responsible for supervising Ocean Tomo, a part of JSHeld professionals to deliver work product. The executive will oversee and manage Ocean Tomo, a part of the JSHeld team, to ensure that high-quality work product is generated. This role reports to the Business Unit Lead and the CEO.

The candidate will join an experienced and closely-knit team of professionals, with deep experience in leading, planning and solving the most complex client situations. 

 

  • Lead operational turnaround management and financial restructuring engagements;
  • Provide expertise and leadership in investment banking, valuation, litigation support, and asset disposition roles of our clients;
  • Manage and lead teams of JS Held personnel;
  • Lead interaction with client teams, shareholders, lenders and other stakeholders
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Work under stress in crisis situations with limited resources and tight deadlines;
  • Produce deliverables;
  • Provide marketplace-leading skills in business development efforts to develop and further cultivate both existing and new referral source relationships within the legal, lending, and investor communities in generating revenue opportunities;
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement go-to-market strategies related to driving revenue growth;
  • Provide support in other ad-hoc tasks as requested.

    Additional responsibilities include:

  • Managing complex assignments from concept through delivery
  • Identifying and converting new business opportunities
  • Writing reports, presentations and other materials
  • Managing and delivering the highest quality work product
  • Daily management of engagements including meetings with clients and counsel
  • Managing all aspects of the client relationship
  • Providing executive level representation at meetings with prospects, clients and tech/channel partners at the C-Suite level
  • Critiquing opposing parties' claims
  • Providing expert testimony
  • Managing and reviewing the work of staff on the engagement
  • Provide thought leadership in areas of expertise to assist in business development and building of brand
  • Directing and review staff in all aspects of the project
  • Training and develop staff on technical concepts
  • Assist in the hiring mentoring of new staff

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters concentrating in finance, accounting, business or economics from a highly regarded program
  • 10 plus years of litigation consulting or intellectual property valuation experience
  • CPA/CFA preferred
  • Testimony experience (preferred) or full case management of a testifying expert
  • Demonstrated success in maintaining business relationships with key decision makers
  • Superior interpersonal and project management sills
  • Capable of taking full responsibility for delivering high quality work product
  • Established reputation for high-level of professional expertise
  • Distinguished academic achievement
  • Attention to detail and quality control
  • Results driven, persuasive and persistent
  • High degree of professionalism, integrity and flexibility
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to conduct one-on-one and one-on-multiple meetings

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $280k - $290k. Any offered salary range is based on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, training, location, scope of role, management responsibility, etc.
