Job Description
We are seeking a Consultant to join our Building Consulting team in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial, highly driven individual with a strong desire to learn and develop new skills while supporting a team whose responsibilities extend beyond those of traditional estimators or project coordinators. The ideal person for this role will be dependable, detail-oriented, adaptable, and eager to build a long-term career in property damage consulting, restoration, insurance claims, and construction-related estimating.
This position offers hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure to complex commercial and residential property loss projects while providing a clear path for professional growth and development. Team members gain practical experience working alongside industry experts and develop technical knowledge, communication skills, project coordination abilities, and an understanding of how property losses are investigated, documented, estimated, and resolved.
Successful candidates will be motivated to learn, comfortable asking questions, and capable of following direction while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with scheduling site inspections and coordinating project activities.
- Organize project information, files, and supporting documentation.
- Take field notes and document property conditions during inspections.
- Support Senior Consultants and experienced team members on commercial and residential property loss projects.
- Assist with collecting, reviewing, and organizing schedules, contracts, change orders, correspondence, daily reports, meeting minutes, monthly reports, and other project documentation.
- Help prepare basic estimates related to property damage claims.
- Assist with preparing clear written reports and client deliverables.
- Communicate professionally with clients, project representatives, and internal team members.
- Support project coordination activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop communication, estimating, documentation, and project coordination skills through hands-on training and exposure to complex property loss assignments.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Eagerness to learn and build a career in property damage consulting, restoration, insurance claims, or construction-related estimating.
- Willingness to learn estimating tools such as Xactimate, Symbility, RS Means, or other industry software.
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and email, with the ability to prepare organized notes, summaries, and draft reports with guidance.
- Valid driver’s license and passport.
- Ability to stay organized, manage assigned tasks, and follow project direction from senior team members.
- Willingness to learn how to review property damage information, photos, documents, and estimates.
- Able to meet deadlines, pay attention to details, and communicate when additional guidance or clarification is needed.
- Dependable, professional, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Professional communication and customer service skills when working with clients, team members, and project representatives.
- Ability to travel as needed, 30-50% including regional, local and international.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in restoration, construction, insurance, estimating, customer service, field work, or administrative project support
- Exposure to estimating software such as Xactimate, Symbility, RS Means, or similar tools
- IICRC related coursework, credentials, or certifications
Physical and Mental Job Qualifications:
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required by the work site.
- Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
- Able to climb ladders to reach high areas or roofs.
- Must be able to support written documentation and report preparation after inspections.
- Must be able to be on call or work weekends or nights.
- Willingness to travel locally, regionally, and for CAT response when needed.

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $65,000 - $80,000. Any offered salary range is based on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, training, location, scope of role, management responsibility, etc.
